This has become somewhat of a cult ad in the sector, but since it was shot Codral have updated their brand colours to have much more orange in the branding.
The brief was there fore to update the 30sec, as well as all the 15sec and 6sec variants of this ad series for Australia and New Zealand.

Rather than an all out VFX workup in Nuke, we decided to recolour elements of the ad in Davinci Resolve. So we enhanced the colour of the dinosaur figurine, and then use that was a reference point to recolour the talent’s winter coat in the opening scenes and then the Veronicasaurus top on the final scenes of the ad.

Something that made this particular tricky, was the similarities of tonality between the talent’s hair and her winter coat in the opening scenes, and then the original yellow tone of the veronicasaurus suit and the background of the train station. This required some careful refinement of selections and some frame-by-frame masking.
