Toyota Camry Roackstar Campaign OOH KV


With a call time of midnight to 2am, you know it’s going to be interesting. The brief simple, to create the OOH KV for the new Toyota Camry. Only, there is no car to shoot, it has to be done within a two hour window to meet the public permits and it has match the TVC. Obvious there was a lot of planning, prep and storyboarding to choreograph a smooth shoot.
In the end, we shot a few framing options with a very technical capture method.
So that our retouching team could complete the shot in post, we shot a 360 HDR dome of each possible vehicle position. This is so that have accurate reflections of overlay on the vehicle’s skin.
Then for the the plate, we used a HDR bracketed, nodal point technique with tilt-shift lenses. This was to give our retouchers the most dynamic range, and resolution we could. The final constructed frame has a few hundred megapixels of resolution, with at least 50% more dynamic range.

Sweetshop did a great job on the final ad, and it came in to me as the agency editor for broadcast dispatch.
