I have to give chapeau to my producer, Lucy Burne on this project. This was certainly a tough brief. To shoot 40 setups, across 2x talent and 2x cars, while also making it look like it was shot across multiple “house” and “office” styled locations. This certainly had us thinking outside the box to achieve.
We scouted many locations, and the solution we came to was to use the rowing boathouses on the banks of the Yarra River. This enabled us to achieve a number of housing/building backgrounds.

We were looking for a natural commercial style of look, with “light touch” retouching, so it had to be good out of camera.

It proved to be a very hectic day, working to the clock, but we got there, and happily, the results certainly don’t reflect the pace of the workflow required.
Even on a jam packed day, it’s important to work and move efficiently, but also to allow yourself as the artist to have a moment on each image. You still need to be able to craft and sprinkle a little of your personal magic into each image or scene.
